The California League of Conservation Voters has announced their endorsement of me! This brings to five the number of influential and community-minded environmental organizations that back my run to be your AD15 representative. My previous environmental endorsements include Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN) Action, California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA) Action, Communities for a Better Environment (CBE) Action, and Sunflower Alliance.
I’m so honored and grateful to have the CCLV endorsement because I’ve been a fighter for environmental justice in Richmond, and I’m eager to take that fight statewide. My track record as a leader of the mobilization and pushback against Chevron's longtime abuse of our community in Richmond gives East Bay voters a rare opportunity to extend the power of that example to the legislature in Sacramento, which is presently flooded with money from Big Oil.
We're facing immediate threats to our health, the climate, and our precious San Francisco Bay from the planned expansion of the Phillips 66 Marine Terminal and the ongoing pollution from coal exported from the Levin-Richmond terminal, to name just two. With the support of CLCV members, together we can mobilize our East Bay community to fight back against these threats.
