Growing Our Movement, One Door at a Time

When I first decided to run for Richmond City Council, I knew I would never be able to raise the same amount of money as the corporate candidates to whom the local oil refinery, Chevron, would give thousands. But I was confident I would not be outworked. I asked friends, family and local activists who shared my vision for Richmond to help spread my ideas. Together we walked hundreds of blocks and talked with thousands of voters, sharing my goals for Richmond throughout the city.

I was elected to the Richmond City Council in 2010 because of the tremendous people power that carried my campaign message from door to door. Now I'm running to represent Assembly District 15, which stretches from Hercules to the Oakland Hills, and there are many new doors to knock on!

Will you join me and my campaign in talking to Assembly District 15 voters?

You can get involved in my people-powered campaign! Join us on one of our weekend canvasses throughout the district, attend a house party, or sign up to host a house party of your own. Please check here to see if you live in Assembly District 15 and reach out to my field director Kabir, at, to host an event or canvass!

In Solidarity,

I am running for the California State Assembly to transform our state government to work for people, not profit. Join me and our movement to build a California that works for the many, not the few.
